Last night I went to see Cosi Fan Tutte in a 'simulcast' at my local cinema from the Met in 'Noo Yawk'. As always, sublime music, beautifully sung but spoiled by such a cynical story that it verges on sour. Del Ponte ended up on 'Noo Yawk' so let that be his punishment! More of that tomorrow because very shortly I must rush up to Twickenham to see my AmDramSoc out-perform my 20-year old production of Othello. Actually, if memory serves,which it always does to perfection when I am are desperately trying to bury certain things, it wasn't a bad production,in fact some of my actors were terrific, it's just that looking back all I can remember are my myriad mistakes which only became obvious the day after the last performance! Anyway, I'm sure they will do well with it which, being as it is the very greatest personal tragedy Shakespeare ever wrote, it deserves.
Anyway, 'I'm outta here'!
