I've never really been too keen on typical Valentine's Day stuff. Whether you're attached or not, the whole thing can be rather forced and anti-climatic. But if we manage to make the day personal, or creative, then it can be wonderfully magical. In seeking out, making, or baking special gifts for our loved ones, we earn our stripes as girlfriends, boyfriends, or whatevers. Making someone a mix CD is still the height of romance in my book, because it requires thought and effort - not money. I also love baking for the people in my life. Everyone speaks the universal language of cake, and I know that nothing makes me smile quite so much as a big slice of creamy frosted carbs.
When Bakerdays offered to send me a special present for Valentine's Day I didn't have to think about it for too long, seeing as they were quite happy to make it dairy-free to suit my vegan diet! It arrived in the cutest little pastel-blue tin, shallow enough to fit through my letterbox, decorated with "XOXO" frosting, and MY BLOG NAME written on it! Definitely one of the best Valentine's presents I've ever gotten, hands down. If having your blog name spelled out in frosting doesn't mean you've arrived, I don't know what does. It was so yummy that I might end up doing a little competition for you to win your own, so keep an eye out for that, too!
