I Feel Inspired!

By Cleverbuttons @cleverbuttons

Hello!

It’s been a while, life has been stressful and a lot has happened.
The biggest thing recently is that I’ve just moved to a house, A HOUSE! We got the keys three days ago and decided to move ourselves and the kitten down yesterday.

We have lived in the old flat for about four and a half years now and I’ve been longing for more space.
One of the best things about having more room is that I can now finally set up my sewing machine. I’ve had it for a couple of years but I didn’t really have anywhere to put it in the flat so it’s not been used much.

I noticed when we were looking at the house that there are wooden chairs in the kitchen and thought that this is a perfect opportunity for me to try to make some cushions! For cushions you need fabric, so I decided to have a little look on IKEA’s website as I was looking at things on there anyway and came across some very lovely things that I wanted to share with you.

EVALOTTA (£5 a metre) – This is actually what made me want to write this post, this is one of the cutest fabrics I’ve seen in a really long time. Would in my opinion make excellent cushion covers, curtains or even a dress!

BLÅVINGE (£4 a metre) – This appeals to me so much, it’s such an interesting fabric with lots of things going on and it’s nature themed which is something I can’t resist. I would actually consider having this as bedding as the colours are really dark and nice.

ÄLGÖRT (£5 a metre) –  Ok, I have to be honest here, I’m not sure that I would actually use this for anything as it’s very loud, BUT I LOVE IT! It’s got moose on it, it reminds me of Sweden and I am secretly a fan of the pink/orange colour combination. I feel like I might need to buy it, just in case I get an urge to make something out of it.

I’ve only got ideas for now and no money until payday, so I’m feeling quite sad that I can’t buy all of these now, however, I’m inspired – and that’s what matters the most to me.

I can’t wait for this coming year, hopefully I will continue feeling creative and then I will show you what I’ve made!

Emma xx
