Hydrovent™ Technology in Sport Socks & Work Socks

By Socksupermarket

Extreme performance, comfort and durability

Hydrovent™ technology comprises a unique high performance fabric that is specifically engineered from polyester fibres for their natural comfort and drying abilities ensuring wearers stay fresh and dry. Utilising these specially developed technologies the Hydrovent™ yarn absorbs perspiration and rapidly transfers it to the fabrics surface for quick evaporation.

Designed to change the way we view comfort Hydrovent™ technology raises our expectation levels for performance from a fabric by delivering ultimate functionality.

Hydrovent™ performance through innovation

Combining the intrinsic properties of cotton with the high performance polyester fiber Hydrovent™ presents us with the ideal yarn to enable the production of garments that are engineered to provide technical advantages with an excellent moisture management system. Hydrovent™ technology is particularly suited to enhance the performance of sport socks, intimate apparel and workwear socks and it is without doubt that garments with Hydrovent™ at their foundation deliver high comfort levels even in today’s demanding lifestyles. Hydrovent™ is rapidly becomingthe key performance yarn of choice by both manufactures and consumers alike.

Hydrovent™ is a high-performance yarn incorporating a multi-channel core which enables both moisture to be managed away from the skin quickly and reduces the all-important fabric drying time. This combination of attributes provide a highly breathable microclimate.

The specially engineered polyester fiber matrix of Hydrovent™ has, at its core, a multi-channelled structure designed to wick away perspiration from the skin. This moisture is then rapidly transferred to the garment’s outer surface for quick evaporation.

Channelled fibres form a transport system that pulls moisture away from the skin to the garment’s outer surface. Moisture is transported in textiles through capillary action or wicking. In textiles, the spaces between the fibres effectively form tubes, which act as capillaries, and transport the liquid away from the surface. As a rule, the narrower the spaces between the fibres in a fabric, the more effectively they will draw up moisture. For this reason, fabrics with many narrow capillaries, such as microfibres, are ideal for moisture transport.
