Hybrid Development

Hybrid Apps are similar to the apps which runs on your mobile phones. You can download these apps through your play store account. But there exists a difference between hybrid apps and native apps.

Hybrid DevelopmentWhat are the differences?

A Native app requires knowledge on a particular field for developing the apps i.e. Java for Android and Objective-C for IOS. But the Hybrid apps requires knowledge on the web code.

Native apps take longer time to develop but can leverage the full potential of the platform whereas Hybrid apps take lesser time but can be simultaneously deployed in multiple platforms.

When should you move to Hybrid App Development?
  • When you do not want to use any native feature in any particular platform. But few frameworks for hybrid app development provides native api such as SMS, Contacts, etc.
  • If you want to release your product to the market immediately
  • When you don't have enough time and money for developing separate apps for Android, IOS, etc
How are Hybrid Apps Developed?

If you know how to create a website then it is a piece of cake for you to develop hybrid apps. Hybrid apps are built in the same way as you create websites using HTML, CSS, Javascript and other frameworks.

The most used tool for developing hybrid apps is Apache Cordova, an open-source Hybrid App Development tool. Apache Cordova consists of a set of device APIs that will allow a hybrid app developer to access native function such as the Camera, SMS, Contacts, etc from JavaScript.
