Hump Day Hairdo + Hot Tools Tapered Curling Iron Review

By Beauteandtheblog
Hello all!
Happy Hump Day! Only two more days 'til Friday, right? ;)
Today, I just wanted to show you the hairdo that I created with my new Hot Tools Tapered Curling Iron, which I'm also going to review below.
Here's today's look:

I opted for a really messy beachy wave style; it's super simple and cute, and definitely one of my favorites for summer!
I created this look with this clipless curling iron:

Here's what it comes with:

The curling iron of course, and a heat protection glove
And 7 exciting features, with a one year warranty:

And 10 heat settings that go up to 540 degrees.

I've used this iron a couple times now, and I really love it! Because it's tapered and goes from 1" at the bottom to 1/2" at the tip, you can create so many different curls and looks. If you want a tighter curl, keep the hair on the barrel for a little longer, or keep the hair closer to the tip of the wand. Or vice versa.
I do have one gripe though: The box says that fragile hair should be set to heat setting 1-2, normal hair 3-4, wavy at 5-6. I consider my hair normal, but I found that 4 didn't give me great results. My hair stayed somewhat wavy and had weird kinks in it no matter how long I kept it on there. I never got the tight spiral curls that are shown on the box. Right now I have it set to 5-6, and I get the results I want. So personally, I find the scale to be a little inaccurate, but hey, it could just be me.
And just as a little side note/gripe about curling irons in general: I really wish they all had an automatic turn-off setting like after an hour or so. I can't be the only one whose left my curling iron on for hours before I realized I never turned it off. This one doesn't have this option either. :/
Otherwise, no complaints here. I kid you not, this tool has made doing my hair super easy. I created the above hairstyle in literally less than 10 minutes. It goes super fast and it turns out great!
This curling iron costs about $40, and you can find it at Sally's Beauty Supply, or get it from Folica.com like I did. Folica always has coupons and sales, so you can get a really good deal!
Let me know if you have any questions!
Love,Belle
