How To Prepare Your Wardrobe For Summer

By Kaidarul @KaiDarul

Here is the Philippines we don’t have much in the way of seasons, especially distinct ones. It can be hot and muggy at any time of the year and the temperature can crack 30 Celsius in December just as easily as in July. But summer does get hotter here – sometimes very noticeably so – and those of us who follow fashion are always aware of changing seasons in the rest of the world.

On that last note, the calendar (if not the weather) clearly indicates that summertime fashion is upon us. Between the brighter colors and bolder looks, even those of us in Iligan City have been dressing a bit more summery as of late. Wherever you are, whatever your summer season entails, it’s always to turn over your fashion from time to time and embrace the season.

Here are a few tips for doing that this year:

How To Prepare Your Wardrobe For Summer

-Look for deals. I’ve always considered summer clothing to be among the most inexpensive and accessible out there. All you really need is a clashing shirt and a pair of cheap sunglasses to be fit for the season, so there’s no reason not to keep your eyes open and look for deals as summer approaches.

-Follow the trends. Every summer comes with new styles and trends, and this year poses no exception. The experts predict, for example, that stripes, boater hats, one-piece bathing suits, and floral patterns will be big this year.

-Examine and assess. One of my favorite aspects of fashion is its ability for self-expression. I enjoy following the fads and wearing the latest clothes, but above all I choose items to wear that reflect me and my mindset. The arrival of summer, along these lines, gives me an opportunity to examine the wardrobe I wore the previous year – and, in the process, assess how much I’ve changed or how far I’ve come.

These are just a few ways to go about preparing your wardrobe for the summer season. While it may be tempting to continue wearing the same clothes you’ve worn for the last couple months (especially if you live in a warmer climate), summer is a time to embrace rebirth and personal change – and display that element of individuality to the world around us.
