How to Make the Most of Your European Club Nintendo Account

How to make the most of your european Club Nintendo accountThere are actually many ways to earn Stars, and some of them are easily overlooked:
  • Welcome bonus: 250 Stars. You get this one when you first register to the Club.
  • Hardware registration: 500 to 1000 Stars, depending on the console you bought.
  • Software registration: 100 to 250 Stars, depending on which console the game is for, and the game's RRP.
  • Stars bonus: go to "my account", "stars bonus", and select the games you're interested in buying at launch. If you register these games within 2 weeks of their launch, you'll get 50 bonus Stars.
  • Surveys: not systematic, but if you want a shot at these 50 Stars, buy a game around launch and if you're in luck, you'll eventually get a notification.
  • Virtual Console & WiiWare surveys: provided your console is linked to your Club Nintendo account, visit "my account" after purchasing the game, and you'll find a link to a survey worth 50 Stars.
  • Present: 50 Stars on your birthday.

Tips:
  • Your stars expire after 2 years, so I suggest you make a note in your calendar.
  • Don't wait too long to register your games: GameCube/GBA games are no longer accepted, nor are DS/Wii games older than 3.5 years.
  • If you really want that gold statue of Link, getting those points to buy a Virtual Console game on a whim is a big setback. Set yourself a goal and stick to it.
  • Check the Club often: rewards in the 1000 Star range appear regulary, but disappear fairly quickly.
