How To Look Put-Together...Even When You're Running Late

By Krystal

Beep…beep…beep. It’s the terrifying sound of the wake-up call that didn’t actually wake you up twenty minutes ago. You’re about to be late to your 8 AM statistics class AGAIN. Let’s think this out logically in a step-by-step fashion…so you can still be in fashion.

Great-fitting jeans are a necessity in a college wardrobe. I promise that they can be just as easy to put on as sweatpants, and they look a million times better and more put-together. The best part about jeans is that they can be dressed up with a nice sweater or dressed casually with just a hoodie.

Plain tight (but not too tight) fitting t-shirts are also a great staple to a college wardrobe. Like the jeans, they can be dressed up or casual with just a few minor changes, and they are guaranteed to look better than that stained, baggy, ripped object you call a shirt that you wear to the gym.

My friend pointed out to me the other day that guys have it so much easier when it comes to looking like they’re put-together. This means they have no excuse for looking like they woke up late for class. Throw on a t-shirt, a button-down shirt, and a pair of jeans. Voilá! No one will ever know you almost didn’t make it to class on time, or they’ll think you just put so much effort into your look that you lost track of time.

Girls, on the other hand, don’t have it as easy. There are so many options that it can just be overwhelming on a day when you only have five minutes to prepare yourself for the day. Have an emergency outfit planned for these kinds of days. Put all the clothes for this emergency outfit on one hanger in an easy to find spot in your closet. This way you don’t have to think about a thing and can be ready much faster.

When that 7:45 wake-up call takes you by surprise, guys, reach for those button-down shirts. Girls, don’t forget about your “emergency outfit” hanging in your closet. Campus would be a much more beautiful place with more put-together people, even if their lives aren’t exactly put-together and decided.
