Jessica Alba was in attendance in the first row at the DVF Runway Show in NYC during 2013 NYFW.  Not often do we covet Mommy Alba’s hair, but today, oh boy do we!  The height of her bangs offset the prim style of her sophisticated blazer and fitted skirt.

Want Alba’s perfectly coifed chignon?  Throw your hair back in a loose ponytail, making sure you leave out your bangs, however long or short they may be.  Start by teasing your bangs and using a heavy hold hairspray to keep it in place.  Return to your hair in the loose ponytail and comb each side carefully so your hair lays very flat and close to your head.  Once you are satisfied with how smooth the sides are, twist the hair tightly until it starts to coil up closely near the nape of your neck.  Start to pin near the nape of your neck with bobby pins in the place where the coil touches your head.  Make sure the pins are placed on the side where they are hidden by the rest of the coil (see photo below).  Continue pinning the coil until you are happy with how tight or loose it looks.  Some people prefer a loose chignon, which looks equally amazing.  Spray a fine mist on the sides of your hair to tame flyaways.  Or you can skip this step if you are going for a looser chignon and make sure you pull some wisps of hair out of the chignon carefully in order to frame your face.  This style works for nearly any event.  Dressed up or down, you clearly can’t go wrong when you hair looks as fabulous as Jessica’s.
