How to Clean Your Home in One Easy Step

By Specialneedmom2 @specialneedmom2

Step one – Give your husband (who has ADD) an iPhone

What follows is a complex string of events that even Rube Goldberg couldn’t dream up.

Hubby, who’s ability to focus on the task at hand is compromised at the best of time, will spend hours playing with the apps on the iPhone.  He will have long conversations with Siri and take enough photos to start his own blog.

Housework will pile up.  Procrastination will ensue.  Dust bunnies the size of cats will roam the hallways.  Children’s toys (and the children themselves!) will be lost (and found!) amid piles of junk.

The entire home will look like the before set of some TV reality show.

Then one day Hubby, who has an inability to organize and manage anything that is not surgically attached to him, will lose his iPhone.

What follows is epic cleaning.

Laundry is folded and put away.  The dark world under the bed is vacuumed and de-dust bunnied.  Floors are swept, furniture moved, beds made, book shelves tidied, and bathrooms cleaned.  All in the quest to find the missing iPhone.

Lest you think it is not true, I assure you it is.

Hubby lost his iPhone Thursday evening.  What followed was 30 hours of rabid cleaning.  Talk about reducing distractions and increasing motivation!

On Friday Hubby sadly called the phone company to find out his options for replacing the missing iPhone.

Saturday morning I found the phone.  It was tucked inside a laundry basket that Hubby hadn’t put away yet.
