How Santa Could Leverage Social Media

How Santa could leverage Social Media The big guy up at the North Pole has been doing his work for longer than I care to know, so far be it for me to tell him how to do it. But it’s only my opinion so I thought I would pen a few ideas for him to leverage social media. Quora The Question and Answer platform would be great for Santa to answer a whole heap of the questions we have, without having to address every single one, by handwritten letter no less. LinkedIn How does Santa manage his staff of helpers? Is there a turnover? LinkedIn would surely streamline the vetting process. Perhaps a little networking to outsource some of the manufacturing to streamline operations? Facebook I say this because I don’t think the page I liked last year is really him (he never got back to me anyway). I think the whole world would be a better place if you knew a little more of what goes on up there. The odd post with pictures of everyone getting the orders together would be great. Not to mention, we could post our wish list and share it with our friends. Santa can even create an event, counting down to when he arrives. Google+ Even Santa must get confused with who’s been bad or good. With Google+ he can create his circles to help him out. Imagine it, he could have the ‘Good’ and ‘Bad’ circles, he could have a circle for the 50/50s. This way he can communicate with us all if need be. And don’t tell me that operations up there can’t be improved by a Google+ Hangout. Foursquare I know Santa doesn’t want kids to be staying up waiting for him but kids get anxious, perhaps Santa can check-in to some locations so everybody knows how the night is tracking. Twitter I think I’ve left the best til last. Santa can start a hashtag #Xmaswishlist – Which lets us all post out wish list with the hashtag and it sabes a whole lot of paper and stamps. He could use it as a crowdsourcing vehicle to come up with new gifts, after all Santa can’t keep a track of all the new trends from up there. I find Ballarat (hometown in Country Victoria, Australia) has enough trouble keeping up with the trends. I wish I could guarantee that the big guy is going to see this, I wish he was on Twitter. Perhaps i’ll print it out and leave it with the cookies and milk. Let me know what you think? If you have any other ideas for Santa to use social media leave a comment. P.S. Hey Santa if you do see this, have you ever thought of using QR Codes? You could leave some online video messagesto give us a heads up if we need to be just a little bit better next year.
