Most fashion experts advise extreme caution when one is considering wearing horizontal stripes. In general, if you wear horizontal stripes, it tends to make you look wider. Howeer, there are instances when wearing horizontal stripes actually make your waist appear thinner.
When you introduce the universally-flattering solid blazer, a shirt with horizontal stripes actually minimizes the waist.
