How Does Instagram Ruin Relationships

By Shauntee @shaunteebattie

How does instagram ruin relationshipsI’m going to get straight to the point here. Why do people try to turn every social media website into a porn site? What is it about social media that makes people want to take off their clothes? I have no problem with nudity whatsoever, however, there’s a time, place, and websites dedicated to such. The first time I created a MySpace account, I was hit with nothing but women and men bearing all for the world to see. When I set up my Twitter account, I was hit with a bunch of private messages of people inviting me to their live cam shows. Somehow I was added to various groups on Facebook that posted nothing but naked people doing various “maneuvers” with others. Yeah…that page didn’t last too long! But I didn’t remove myself from the groups either, I thought it would be good research (winks). Now there’s Instagram; your life in pictures! Which basically translates to, more naked people! The magic question that seems to now bring readers to my blog is “How does Instagram ruin relationships? Instagram can only screw up your relationship if you let it.

Instagram can land you in hot water because not only do you have text, but there are also pictures. Everything from women in little yellow polka dot bikinis to strippers showcasing their talents on a pole can now be easily shared on Instagram. Although most social media websites have some policy about what you can post, let’s be real, some people don’t adhere or care about policies. These websites do not have enough manpower to police millions of accounts so they depend on users to report abuse as they see it. How many people actually take the time to report stuff? I know I certainly don’t. As I stated, I was doing research and stumbled upon some of this stuff. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it :)

So when asked the question how does Instagram ruin relationships? I will keep it 100% real and say Instagram does not ruin relationships; people do. I’m a realist when it comes to certain things. We cannot stop anyone from looking at other women/men online or in public. However, there is a certain level of respect that we must adhere to when we are involved. There are boundaries that people shouldn’t cross. Looking is one thing but engaging in conversation is a whole different story. The problems start when people cross the line and do more than look. They start commenting and engaging in inappropriate conversation. Most people don’t realize this, but once you start doing bogus shit on your phone. You become more protective of that little smart device; which raises a big ole red flag with us. Eventually, when you least expect it, we strike. Since Instagram is an ap and not really a complete website. It’s a lot easier to access because it does not require you to log in each time you use it. And that my friends is how Instagram ruins relationships!

Have a great weekend and please people keep your Instagram photos rated PG!
