Honor Ready Take Over With Single
While the actual music of an artist will grab my attention, an interesting background story as to how they start gaining recognition will also peak my interest. Once I heard Honor's new song and learned about her background, I knew the London based artist would be a great fit on this blog.
Honor went viral by accident when a YouTuber named LukeIsNotSexy found a memory stick on a London train containing a bunch of her photos and demos, which then led him to trying to locate who this singer was. He created a vlog to which he gathered his 500,000+ subscribers to help him find this mystery girl and created a Facebook page posting some of the clues from the USB (Honor now took over that page). That quickly turned in to more, when #NameTheGirl started to trend on Twitter the same evening and everyone was instantly intrigued by who this artist was.
Eventually a friend identified Honor and informed her, after which she posted an incredibly thankful video response. Following all that, she was then picked up by Spaceship Management, a music management group based in Italy (best known for their work with hitmakers Benny Benassi, The Bloody Beetroots, Crookers and Alex Gaudin).
Now Honor is ready to take over with her new single called "Never Off," which not only was released on Soundcloud as a free download, but an accompanying video directed by Marco Prestini from the FlashFactory team. Yet, her song is also catching on by electronic producers who already are remixing the track. One of which is by PANG!, a duo from Stockholm who recently remixed David Guetta’s ‘What I Did For Love’.
You can stream and download her single "Never Off" below as well as the remix by PANG!. Also, be sure to check out the video as well.
