Homemade Ranch Seasoning

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

Confession: I LOVE ranch dressing. Really really love it. What I don’t love is all the chemicals and artificial ingredients in it. I have a solution for an incredibly delicious homemade ranch seasoning mix that can be used to make dressing, dips, in burgers or anything that you might want ranch in. My neighbor loves ranch just as much as I do and I have her hooked on this seasoning mix now! She has proclaimed to never buy store bought ranch dressing again. And that’s saying something… since she had at least 3 bottles in her fridge. Now she has this and makes some every few days.

I came across this Homemade Ranch Seasoning Mix when I was searching Becca’s blog, It’s Yummi for my Secret Recipe Club pick this month. I ended up picking 3 different recipes to make because everything looked so good! But this ranch seasoning needed to be shared. And it just so happens that Becca lives in Wisconsin (Go Pack Go!) and lives not to far from many of my extended relatives.

You can make a quick homemade dressing with this seasoning; use organic mayo and milk and this mix. That’s it. I feel a heck of a lot better eating this with just a few ingredients than the store bought version.

Ingredients (1/4 cup)

  • 2 Tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried onion flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Mix all the seasonings with a spoon and store in a container with a lid.

For homemade ranch dressing combine 1 tbsp of the mix with 1/3 cup mayo and 2 ounces of milk. For a thinner dressing add more milk, for a thicker dressing add less milk.
