By Marensmorsels @marentweets

Hi guys!!! How’s it been going?

I’ve been balancing work, basketball, and my new favorite task… Jury Duty! Hecka jury duty. Like, this is what Lifetime Movies are based on Jury Duty!!!

Ohh well, it’s my civic duty and I haven’t been selected for the actual thing yet… I’m just getting questioned to see if I pass… or fail… depends on how ya look at it.

How to decorate for the Holidays while spending under $30 dollars!

Yes… I just went there!

This fall/winter I’ve been really into decorating for the holidays. I decorated for Halloween, Thanksgiving and now Christmas. I live at home so it’s basically like I have a studio apartment (minus my own bathroom and a kitchenette). Most of us are on a budget during the holidays with all the presents and cookie ingredients to buy, but we don’t have to sacrifice spreading a little holiday cheer for ourselves!

Here’s how I decorated my entire room for the holidays, classily, without spending boat loads of mulah!

I totally spelt poinsettias wrong on that pic…

  • A little (fake) bouquet of poinsettias for a vase I already use- $5 at hobby store
  • Glade scented candle, spiced apple & sparkling spruce scent- $2.50 at Target
  • Pine cones in assorted sizes- $5 at Target
  • Fun little Christmas ornaments (come in multiple color combos)- $4 at Target
  • Festive tissues for winter sniffles- $3 at Target

And as a extra little decoration…

  • A fun holiday decoration that you absolutely love for added flare- $10 at Marshalls

Just put them all together on a little side table or coffee table for some festive cheer!

I used a mason jar I already had for my ornaments. They didn’t all fit so I let a few straggle around. It would be really cute to stack them on a  plate too. That was my original idea.

I bought my pine cones because I live in the city. But if I had a pine tree I’d use real ones from my yard (or my neighbors yard

;-)
Stealing pine cones doesn’t apply to normal stealing rules… in my opinion)

I put a few on my coffee table then I put a few in a bowl on my dresser… just to spread the holiday cheer around.

Then I took some ramekins/sauce dishes from the kitchen and made a fun-modern little pine cone display.

Haha. Totally cute! I love this part.

As a little addition I bought this glittery half reindeer/ half mouse dude at Marshalls. I LOVE him. He looks weird and kinda funky. I think it’s awesome, I couldn’t leave the store without him.

And Voila. My entire living space is decorated for the holidays and I spend $29.50!

And for your tastebuds I’ve created my own gingerbread coffee drink that’s uuber tasty and less money than a gingerbread latte!!!

GRANDE PIKES PLACE. 2 PUMPS GINGERBREAD. SPLASH OF SOY. 2 SPLENDAS.

TELL ME ABOUT YOU!!! I WANT TO KNOW…
