The Holiday season is upon us and I wanted to take the opportunity today to show you a delicious cheese spread that will come in really handy over the coming weeks. It is easy and quick to make and everyone just loves it! Its also great for game time if you are a game time kind of a person! Actually its good for any type of get-together!

I am a great fan of Ryvita anything and chose to highlight these flatbreads and crackers with a recipe this month. In a season of great indulgences it is nice to think that you can indulge and yet be just a tiny bit healthier with it.
These both went perfectly with this hearty cheese spread. You want a nice and sturdy cracker that won't fall to bits with this spread and both of the flavours of the flat bread and the crackers did not clash at all with the flavor of the spread. In fact they went perfectly with it.
This is really a delicious cheese spread with the richness of not one but two types of cheese (or more if you buy a multi cheese blend), the fresh flavours of spring onions, moreish BACON, crunchy smoked almonds, creamy mayo and a bit of a kick from both black pepper and hot pepper sauce!
You could also spread it onto squares of toasted bread or crackers and bake them in a hot oven for a few minutes to melt. A hot nibble. Delicious.
Any way you choose to enjoy it, I think you and your guests will agree that you are in for a real taste treat! Best of all (as if simply being delicious was not enough) it is quick and easy to make!
*Holiday Cheese Spread*Serves 10Printable Recipe
This is a delicious cheese spread to serve with crackers during the holidays or any other time you have a crowd around to serve finger food to. It's simple to make and quite delicious. You can also spread it on croustades and heat it if you want, but we just enjoy it cold. The recipe can easily be doubled.
250g pack of grated cheese blend (I used a mix of strong cheddar and Red Leicester) (2 cups)6 spring onions, trimmed and finely chopped240g pack of streaky bacon, cooked until crisp and then coarsely chopped (1 cup)65g pack smoked almonds, chopped coarsely (1/2 cup)220g good quality mayonnaise (1 cup)1/2 tsp coarse black pepper1 tsp hot pepper sauce (or to taste)A variety of crackers and crisp breads to serve
Mix all of the ingredients well together in a bowl. Taste and adjust seasoning of pepper and hot pepper sauce as required. Some people might want more. I find this amount is just right for us. Pack into a serving dish and chill for several hours until ready to serve. Place onto a tray and surround with your crackers and cracker breads.
