Hitchai'vut (Authorization) from Macabee Clinics for treatment at Hadassah Hospital
To All Members of Kupat Cholim Macabee:
Please know that if you are authorized for an appointment with a Specialist in Hadassah Hospital (Hadassah Ein Kerem) in order to have an action or treatment done to you, i.e. removal of catheter, etc. that a Hitchai'vut for an appointment is not sufficient in order for the Specialist to perform the action or treatment. You must have with you a letter, either from your clinic specialist, or the Hadassah Hospital Specialist and a Hitchai'vut specifically for the action or treatment to be performed. Without this additional Hitchai'vut, Hadassah Hospital will charge you perhaps thousands of shekels in order to have the Specialist do the action or treatment.
This has come to my attention, through my own suffering, yesterday in Hadassah Ein Kerem. Fortunately, I had the presence of mind while in Hadassah Ein Kerem, to full-court press the Hadassah Specialist, the Hadassah secretaries and the secretaries at Macabee Tze'elim in order to facilitate the paperwork flow via faxes before the Macabee Tze'elim clinic closed at 12 Noon.
Please learn from my experience of yesterday so that none of you suffer at the hands of the Macabee/Hadassah bureaucratic tangle.
