Highlights From Apple Event: iPad Air and iPad Mini With Retina Display

Tonight at 7:00 p.m. Apple presented the long awaited new tablet devices, along with a new line of MacBook and new operating system!

New MacBook Line and OS X 10.9 Mavericks

The conference began with the introduction of the latest OS X Mavericks, defining it as a revolutionary upgrade. It offers better battery life, improved integrated graphics, making it up to 1.8 x faster. It also comes with some innovative apps, such as Finder, Apple Maps and iBooks. The best thing about OS X Mavericks is it is absolutely free and it is available starting today! It is compatible with 2007 iMac, MacBook Pro, 2008 MacBook Air and MacBook, and Mac Pro.

MacBook Pro Notebooks

According to Apple, this MacBook line-up of note-books is the best so far! They presented two major updates of MacBook Pro: 13 and 15-inch Retina Pro note-books. A 13-inch MacBook Pro is thinner and lighter than before, and 90% faster. It provides up to 9 hours of battery life. IT is equipped with a 2.4 GHz Core i5, 4 GB of RAM, and a 128 GB SSD.

As for the 15-inch version of  MacBook Pro, it comes with Crystalwell chip with Iris Pro graphics, Intel quad-core processor, offering up to 8 hours of battery life, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD. Both devices are available for shipping starting today!

Next model presented at the event was Mac Book Pro- Apple desktop computer that comes in brand new design, with an Intel Xeon E5, with 3,6,8 or 12-cores, 12 GB RAM, dual FirePro D300s, 256 GB SSD. It is defined by faster memory: 1866 MHz DDR3 ECC memory. In addition, MacBook Pro uses 70 percent less energy than the previous Mac Pro model and it is expected to become available by the end of the year.

This tablet represents Apple’s most advanced technology in revolutionary device. It is only 7.5 mm thick, meaning 20% thinner than the previous model. Its name- Air is truly justified since it weights only about 454 g, which makes it world’s lightest tablet! Its GPU is 72 times faster than the first generation iPad, the front camera is improved and the battery provides up to 10 hours of use. iPad Air comes in silver and white, space gray and black. Other iPad Air features include: A7 chip, aluminum frame, 64-bit architecture, MIMO support…It comes with a great selection of free apps iMovie, iPhoto, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, and more.

iPad Mini Retina Display

Apple made sure to provide new iPad Mini with one of the most requested features by the users- Retina display! This new version of Apple Mini tablet now comes with a 7.9- inch Retina display and a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. On the back there is a 5-mega-pixel iSight camera and 1080p FaceTime front camera.  It is equipped with an A7 chip as well as with 64 bits. It is up to 4 times faster on  CPU, with even  8 times faster graphics. The Mini Retina Wi-Fi is twice as faster and supports MIMO technology, just like iPad Air. It will be available from November in two color options: black and silver.

Apple also introduced the Smart Covers for its two new tablets. The covers come in a range of vibrant colors and will be sold at $ 39 or less. Aside from these covers, Apple also introduced elegant leather cases which will be sold at $ 79.
