Helpful hints for that important first date

Going on your first date can be somewhat stressful. Especially if you want to make sure that the first date leads to a second and third date. Not only is it important to impress your date when you pick them up, but you also need to make sure that you plan everything just right.

The first thing to remember is to always make sure that you buy a bouquet of fresh flowers. Since this is your first date, you might be tempted to make a bold statement by opting for a bouquet of red roses but this might be too bold a move. Instead, consider pink roses or a mixed pink bouquet. If you really want to make sure that your date does not feel overwhelmed, then you could choose a mixed bouquet that consists of several types of flowers and various colours.

Another good thing to remember is to keep it simple. Going to a movie together does not make it easy to interact and get to know one another. On the other hand, activities like visiting a local market, strolling in the park, or even bowling or mini golf allow you to talk while having fun.

After an activity, you can make your way to a restaurant and it need not be the fanciest place in town. You could even buy some fast food and take a seat on a bench while you tuck in. Again, when you dine in a fancy restaurant, you might not feel completely comfortable to talk and laugh. When you're in a more casual setting, you can both be yourselves and it makes the first date experience that much less stressful.
You could always head to a cozy bar or pub for a drink or cup of coffee before calling it a night. The weather will also determine how you spend your evening so, if you have outdoor activities planned, you should always make sure that you have an indoor alternative just in case. Rain can come out of nowhere which doesn't mean that your date is ruined. It can actually make for a great story later on!

Last, but definitely not least, make sure that you turn your phone off. It's your first date and you should not be spending time on the phone or on social media. You want your date to enjoy your full attention. Even when they step away to visit the restroom, you should resist the urge to check your phone. Instead, pretend that you forgot your phone at home and switch to silent. Deactivate the vibrate feature and, when seated, keep it in a pocket rather than on the table.
