Here is the second edition of my inspired makeup looks. Today I will be doing a Tiffany Hwang's ft. Simon Dominic "Heartbreak Hotel" which was released as an SM Station Digital Single on 6.10.16.
I am about to go on a tangent about Fany's style and about the song, so if you really don't care and want to skip to the makeup part, skip the next two paragraphs.
First off, this single has to be my favorite song Tiffany has every sung. It does a great job utilizing her voice without straining notes she has a fifty-fifty chance of hitting. Not to mention that Simon D has a tight rap, much like me trying to say a twenty minute speech in a minute, pretty sick. Tiffany may not be my favorite member of SNSD, but since the 2012 Japanese Expansion era, Fany has gotten quite the push from management. I mean there are instances in songs where she sang more than Seohyun and Jessica (who are vocally ranked higher than her). She also had a style change where she is much more confident which can definitely be seen prior to the I Got a Boy Era. Good thing!
With that being said, Tiffany has a unique sense of style. I think this has a lot to do with my over-analytical mind, she tends to wear the same thing, but in different styles. If you watched the Lion Heart performances, you would notice that Fany always wears the shortest outfit or always bears her shoulders. This has a lot to do with her body shape which is the boxy body shape. Which is very common among girls, one being myself. She also hardly ever wears pants. She also hardly exposes her entire midriff area like Yuri, Taeyeon, Yoona, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, and Jessica (Seohyun and Sunny don't really show their midriffs that much for other reasons). A very intelligent style change on her part and the stylist part. So, if you have a boxy shape and have some fashion troubles, look at some of her outfits. The good thing about this it has definitely increased her confidence and fashion influence. You go Fany!
As many of Sones or Kpop fans may know, Tiffany is from the US and she does not let you forget it. Even though she has lived in S.Korea for 10+ years, she managed to keep her west coast girl roots well watered. When she released I Just Wanna Dance, she filmed the video in LA with American background dancers and wearing the popular drawstring criss-cross top that has been popular here for awhile. Another thing has to be one of her makeup looks in Heartbreak Hotel where she is sitting at the bar. She has a moderate black smokey eye with a glossy nude lip-color. Now the video has pretty dark lighting, so I could not fully see everything she was wearing, but I am going to pretend like I did :D Upon inspection, you will notice this looks like any average smokey eye and you are totally correct!
This is really my first time doing a black smokey eye and I don't know how I feel about it. I didn't get the pigmentation I wanted which is probably because I applied my eyelashes before anything else. Due to my lack of talent when applying eyelashes, how I apply them is a post in itself. Also, my skin has been a mess lately and the camera does a pretty good job of picking that up, so I did do some photoshop to smooth out my complexion, but I did remove the filter on the eyes and lips.
