ABOUT THE BOOK:

From "First Lady of the West" Linda Lael Miller and New York Times bestselling author B.J. Daniels come two tales of love and trust in big sky country
Creed's Honor
Linda Lael Miller
Conner Creed knows exactly who he is: a hardworking rancher carrying on his uncle's legacy in Lonesome Bend, Colorado. Maybe a small-town cowboy's life isn't his dream, but he owes the man who took him in as a kid. When he meets Tricia McCall, a newcomer to the small town, he discovers a kindred spirit who knows a thing or two of her own about living someone else's dreams. As they each struggle with their desires, together they might just find their own dreams in Lonesome Bend.
Unforgiven
B.J. Daniels
In Beartooth, Montana, land and family are everything. So when Destry Grant's brother is accused of killing Rylan West's sister, the high school sweethearts leave their relationship behind in order to help their families recover from tragedy. Years later, Destry is dedicated to her ranch and making plans for the future. Plans that just might include reuniting with the love of her life. Rylan, too, is done denying his feelings for Destry. But when her brother returns to clear his name and the secrets of the past threaten to resurface, their last chance at love may turn them against each other for good.

MY REVIEW:

Heart of a Cowboy: Creed's Honor\UnforgivenHeart of a Cowboy: Creed's Honor\Unforgiven by Linda Lael Miller
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Heart of a Cowboy: Creed’s Honor/Unforgiven by Linda Lael Miller and B.J. Daniels is a 2017 Harlequin Books publication.
For the record, there are two complete novels here, both of which are reissues.
The first book is ‘Creed’s Honor’ by Linda Lael Miller. This book was originally published in 2011 and the sixth installment in Miller’s wildly popular ‘Montana Creeds’ series.
Tricia is from the city, but has returned to Lonesome Bend, a place she once spent her summers, to sell her dad’s properties after he passed away. Her beloved great grandmother is doing a little sideline matchmaking though, in hopes that Tricia will dump her fiancé and discover what a terrific guy Conner Creed happens to be.
Conner Creed runs a ranch, although it wasn’t exactly what he always wanted to do, while his brother lived the freestyle life on the rodeo circuit. But, when his twin returns home, hoping to take part in running the ranch, old resentments resurface.
But, when Connor meets Tricia, he finds a kindred spirit, but once Tricia finds a buyer for her father’s property, she intends to return to her big city life. Can Connor convince her to stay?
FULL REVIEW OF UNFORGIVEN  BY B.J DANIELS:
The second book is ‘Unforgiven’ by B.J. Daniels
This book was originally published in 2012 and is the first book in the ‘Beartooth, Montana’ series.
This story was an unexpected surprise. I checked this book out of the library without realizing this book was part of the deal. I thought it was would read much the same way Miller’s book had, which was pure contemporary romance, but this story is a mystery/ romantic suspense novel and you know love, love, love romantic suspense.
Destry and Rylan were lovers back in high school and the relationship was serious enough that they planned on having a future together.
But, when Rylan’s sister was killed, Destry’s brother became the prime suspect, it effectively ended their relationship.
Now, Rylan has returned home after years on the rodeo circuit. He has been avoiding Destry, but when new evidence is discovered in his sister’s murder case, they will have to face each other with the truth, not matter what.
Did Destry’s brother commit murder? Will the truth tear Destry and Rylan apart forever or will it set them free?
Wow, this is a really good mystery with a cold case element to it that makes it even more interesting. There is also a fair amount of family drama too.
The romance is a little edgy, since it’s obvious the couple are in love, but the family situation keeps them divided. It’s a little angsty and emotional, but the chemistry is perfect.
I haven’t read many books by this author, but I am certainly going to add more to the TBR pile after reading this one.
4 stars
Overall, this book is a two for one deal you can’t go wrong with. Obviously, the second book was stronger, in my opinion, but both stories are worth checking out.
