He Paints, He Writes! Meet Carlos Aleman and Read About His New Release.

The new release: When body parts begin to wash upon the sea wall in Havana, Diego runs to inform his policeman friend, Octavio. Arriving at the scene, both realize that the remains belong to someone they once knew, the mysterious Lorenzo. All are eventually suspected of being involved in a secret plot. As an investigation is made into the circle of friends, it becomes evident that Lorenzo’s widow, Cleofas, holds many of the missing pieces of the puzzle.  Meanwhile, in Miami, there is a man also named Diego living a parallel existence, unaware that his life is intertwined with the lives of those in Cuba. He is called to make the ultimate sacrifice to be with the woman he loves.

The Author: Carlos Delgado Alemán is a Cuban American writer, painter, illustrator, book cover designer (including the award-winningBattle for a Soulby Manuel Melendez), digital product artist/prototyper and web designer (Onstream Media). An early e-book draft of this novel entitled As Happy As Lingwas a finalist in the 2012 International Latino Book Awards. In 2013, the release in paperback ofHappy That It’s Not Truewas named one of the best novels of the year by the Latina Book Club. He was a judge in the 2014 National Association of Hispanic Publications’ José Martí Awards.
He recently published a retrospective art book entitled The Dark Chocolate Art of C. D. Aleman featuring his paintings and kokeshi dolls along with his personal story. In the book, Aleman introduces the the term Dark Chocolate as a way to perceive the arts as well as the journey of discovery. He will be featured on WPBT, Channel 2 for Art Loft in 2016.Carlos lives in Sunrise, Florida with his wife Jean. He has two granddaughters.  Every few years he exhibits his paintings in a local gallery.
