Haven Rooftop

By Bigcitylittleblog @feakins

This past Tuesday, my friends and I ascended to the top of the world in the heart of Times Square to enjoy craft cocktails, mouthwatering food, and great music (c/o.) Located in Midtown Manhattan at the Sanctuary Hotel, the Haven Rooftop is an enjoyable location for after-work Happy Hour or a weekend brunch.

Even for a seasoned New Yorker, walking through Times Square has enough stimulation to invoke a sense of anxiety. The multitude of lights, people, and noise is unparalleled, and it makes you want to rise above it for a sweet escape. That's exactly what we got out of the Haven Rooftop. Although the view was unfortunately lacking, the spacious wooden deck and cozy cabanas allowed you to forget the chaos below.

Not your average bar food, the Haven Rooftop boasts a more refined culinary experience with menu items like Tuna Tartare Wontons and Caprese Salad. Of course, they also offer juicy sliders and the like for those in need of something more substantial. The White Pizza was also a showstopper. After all, I'm a sucker for cheese and truffle oil.

To drink, my squad and I stuck to The Cielo (Jimador Tequila, Sour Mix, Jalapeño, Cucumber, Cilantro) and The Moonshine (Luna Azul Tequila, Grapefruit Juice, Cassia Syrup,) although they had an impressive drink menu of speciality cocktails and fine wines.

The Haven Rooftop hosts weekday specials like Happy Hour (4-7pm) and a 3-course Prix Fixe dinner for $45 (5-7pm.) It is located atop of The Sanctuary Hotel at 132 West 47 Street. For more information, head to www.havenrooftop.com.
