Happy New Year!!!

By Makeupguineapig @MakeUpGuineaPig
Happy New Year! Well, New Year's Eve has come and gone and now it's officially 2013! I hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe New Year's Eve. I didn't do anything exciting. Well, I didn't really do anything! :) Just watched the celebrations on TV, glad that I was nice and warm at home. :) Every year I am always appalled at the pathetic ball drop celebration in Times Square. It's just so sad and uninteresting. And then I see the celebrations in other countries and, wow! Sydney, Australia is always an AMAZING spectacle, but this year I think Hong Kong definitely is a close runner up...maybe even the winner?!?!
I'm not much of a New Year's Resolution kind of person because I don't need a specific day to make a change. I'll do it when it's right. But, for the sake of tradition, I'm going to make a few baby resolutions this year.
1) Keep up with blog comments, email, etc!!! I always read everything almost right away, but I seem to take forever to respond. So I'm going to try and do better with that. And, so far, I've gotten pretty much all of my blog comment responses done for the day!!! :)
2) Get back to exercising on a regular basis and keep it up! Such a cliched resolution, but I was doing a great job with regular exercise until around Christmas time when everything got hectic around here. I hate, hate, hate exercise with a passion, but I know it's good for me and I like feeling stronger. I'm that girl who couldn't do even one push up in gym class...I still can't quite do one correctly, but I'm almost there! :) So, for the sake of just being in good health and better shape, I want to keep up the exercising. Yuck! :)
3) Get more organized. Another cliche. My room is currently a mess though and I need to get it clean before it's out of control! :) Not to mention, I want to reorganize my closet and my makeup is literally all over the place these days. So I'd like to fix all of that.
4) Come up with a hobby or activity that gets me out of the house!!! I feel like I'm always just sitting at home when I have free time and it feels unhealthy and kind of wasteful. There are so many things to do in this world. Why sit around the same old house all the time? I do enjoy it, but I don't want to look back on my life and wonder why I didn't do this or that. I don't know about anyone else, but it's the things I didn't do that I always regret.
I guess that's it. There are plenty of other things I could work on or change, but I'm trying to be realistic and try not to change sooo much that I cannot change anything! :) As I said in the beginning, I hope everyone had a wonderful year and that your New Year's Eve was everything you had hoped for and more! :) Let me know what you did for New Year's in the comments because I'm always curious what others do on this strange celebratory night! :)
And finally, let me just say thank you so much for sticking with me over this past year. I started this blog almost exactly one year ago and it's been such an interesting and fun experience so far! I'm looking forward to many more years of blogging and hope at least a few of you will stick around! :) Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for all of your comments and support. It really does mean the world to me!!!!
Happy New Year!!!
