Easter weekend is usually a favorite of mine... I always remember sunny Sundays growing up, dying Easter Eggs with my family(my Grandpa was a pro!) The meal was better than Thanksgiving in MHO :) And of course there were the Easter Baskets... My
Isn't this tree beautiful?! Spring really is the best time to live in the Pacific NW(when the sun is shining). I also remember getting a new Easter dress a few times when I was growing up. I can particularly recall a white one that had pink, yellow, and blue pastel stripes... worn with ruffly white socks and Mary Jane's. Why can't I still dress like that?! I guess I still could if I didn't mind making my own clothes and tolerating the strange looks...
I think the reason I love this holiday so much is the hope it ushers in. Whether you believe in Jesus, Mother Earth, or anything in between - this is a time for re-birth and new beginnings. I am looking forward to creating new, healthy recipes to have tomorrow - and I'm not even a little sad to be skipping commercial candy(let's hope that feeling sticks around through Halloween!) This Winter offered enough isolation; I'm ready to bust out of my cocoon! ~P.S.~ My mom and I used to always watch The Sound of Music on Easter eve... it's on in the background as I type. :) Happy Easter!
