I was having a conversation with one of my coworkers and shared one of my philosophies about getting dressed for the day.  Happy dress = HAPPINESS!  I dress for how I WANT to feel in the mornings, even when that morning seems blah.  When I go about the rest of my day, I’m “dressed for success” in happiness so to say.  {BTW, what goes on during the morning before work is a mad rush to get everything together which is usually why I’m wearing a dress (no matching) that makes me feel happy and put together.}

The Style Rx:  Dress for happiness by grabbing a “happy piece” in your closet!  What makes you feel like a million bucks?  WEAR IT and go on with your day!

I wore this outfit to meet the designer, Nanette Lepore, at Neiman Marcus.  I was so tired and really nervous (I’ve been a fan of her since forever) that morning.  This floral skirt always makes me smile, and I feel really confident when wearing it… so voila!  The skirt went off the hanger and on to me with a bow-front blouse for a brunch.

My coworker had never really thought about dressing in this way.  What about you?  Do you dress for happiness?  What’s your secret weapon piece in your closet?

Happiness is a state of mind.  It’s just according to the way you look at things. – Walt Disney
