Have you ever wondered if there really is a Mrs. Meyer behind that natural cleaning product brand that has sprouted up at your local Target? Well, there is, and yesterday she turned 81! As this video shows, Thelma is looking fabulous (I mean, that lipstick color, helloooo. I’m putting in my vote for a Mrs. Meyer’s anti-aging skincare line)!
The video is so worth your time: from her home in Granger, Iowa, Mrs. Meyer’s walks you through her life (highlights include pulling a 2-room trailer from Indiana to Iowa & raising 9 children) and her philosophies on life and cleaning.
Above are a few of my favorite Mrs. Meyer’s products and one that I’m dying to try. I’ve been a long-time fan of their Basil Counter Spray…but when Radish ($3.99) made it’s debut I quickly switched. Oddly it smells similar to fresh cut peonies and reminds me of my Grandma’s house–which was always filled with vases of them when they were in season! I’m also a huge fan of their soy candles (the Geranium ($9.99) is a current fav and I’m switching to Lavender ($9.99) in the Fall)…nothing can compete with their lingering scent! And I can’t wait to get my hands on their Basil Surface Scrub ($4.99)—after a bad experience with Ajax I have had my eye on something more natural.
Anyways, happy 81st to Thelma, who rang in her birthday with a new scent for Mrs. Meyer’s: Sunflower. I’m sure it will be just as wonderful as the rest of it.
