Infamous hacker, Samy Kamkar has developed a drone that has the ability to hack into other drones and take over control in the air. He has already released the software specifications and hardware details to the public, allowing anyone to make these drones and hijack other drones that flies over their houses.
Kamkar calls his rogue drones “SkyJack.” These drones are basically made with a Parrot AR.Drone quadcopter, and a Raspberry Pi programmed with custom software. SkyJack drones have transmitters that can pick up radio signals from other nearby drones in air and take over the wireless connection to hijack those drones.

In case you didn’t know, Samy Kamkar is not just an ordinary hacker. He the guy who did some jail time over a hack named Samy worm, a MySpace exploit that made Kamar famous back in 2005. Now he’s working on legitimate hacking, even though this particular project doesn’t seem much legit.
Release of this hijacking drones comes after the surprising announcement of Amazon’s delivery drones which the company aims to use to deliver goods to customers under 30 minutes using unmanned drones. Ever since the announcement, there have been quite a fuss over the Internet about how practical this technology can be and how long it would take for people to pull out their guns and shoot these drones down. Although, now it seems like we will have an easier way to get free gifts when these drones arrive.
