Guildford’s Always the Sun Festival announces first wave of acts for 2017 including Public Service Broadcasting, Lucy Rose and Tall Ships

Curated by the Boileroom team, Always the Sun Festival will be making a welcome return to Guildford’s Stoke Park from 8-10 September this year and the first wave of acts including the headliners for the Park Stage – The Strypes (Friday), Public Service Broadcasting (Saturday) and Lucy Rose (Sunday) – has just been announced.

Also playing the independent event are Dreadzone, Grapefruit Moon, IDLES, Infinity Orchestra, Inheaven, Meadowlark, Palm Honey, Sapphire, Tall Ships, TRAAMS, Trudy and The Romance, UP! Orchestra, Vinyl Staircase.

We saw Tall Ships last night before listening to the new record this morning and it’s sounding huge; Idles are a very important band right now; and we only heard good things about Inheaven’s recent set at Aldershot’s West End Centre. With these acts and plenty more to follow, Always the Sun looks set to be a scorcher this year.

A family-focused weekend, there will be plenty of art and craft activities for children of all ages to enjoy and The Great Guildford Bake Off will also be coming back to satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth.

The highly affordable tickets, which include family weekend and group savers, are available now at www.alwaysthesunfestival.co.uk/tickets
