A living room reflects your whole house because this is the space where usually guests gather in. If you love entertaining and having friends and family over then you need to make it spacious enough so that everyone can have a seat and you also need to make sure that it looks warm and welcoming. Keeping these things in mind a few tips are enlisted below. Happy decorating!

You should take time out every day to clean and declutter your home. No matter how much money you have spent doing your living room the clutter will take away the elegance from it. Get in a habit of organizing and cleaning up your mess daily so that it doesn't pile up.
If you want to add grace to your living room then you can go for indoor plants. They promote good vibes around your home and make it seem airy and charming.
If chosen wisely a rug can tie your whole living room together. There is a wide range of fine quality rugs available online that you can pick according to your liking. If you have a worn out carpet or floor then rugs can be used to cover up such imperfections and also make your living room look a lot more sophisticated.
You can change the fabric of your sofas from time to time as the trends change. Instead of changing the whole sofa and just changing its fabric can not only add charm to your home but save you a lot of money.
You can also repaint the walls to go with the new fabric of your sofas. This way you can modify the color scheme of your living room by changing a few things.
If it is possible then measure your furniture and measure your room and figure out what is going to fit where. This step is going to help you create the best and most effective layout.
If your living room is large enough to allow for two sofa sets then make sure you get two different styles. You can differentiate in patterns and styles so that it doesn't feel like you got one set.
One great way to do something different with your living room is to use chairs instead of sofas. Chairs come in all shapes, sizes, patterns and colors. They can make a wonderful alternative for sofas for seating. You can flank a fireplace with two chairs and it would look absolutely lovely and grand. You can take two chairs and put them around a small coffee table and you can have a beautiful conversation area. This way you are swapping out traditional sofas and using chairs which people will love because they will have their own little place to sit.
If your living room is big then you want to avoid placing the furniture right up against the wall because then the room will look vacant so pull the furniture into the middle of the room and right away the room will look more inviting.
When you have a high cabinet or a tall piece of furniture in your living room then don't go without putting a lamp on it. But you also have to be sure that you don't put a lamp that is too tall because when you walk by you're going to be staring at a bare light bulb.
When you first start designing a room you want to look for focal points. Those are the areas people are drawn to. For example a fireplace and windows are a focal point. So this thing should have their proper space. For example don't put the television too close to the fireplace so that it doesn't invade on the space of the fireplace.
