My Guest Post today is from a company called Omlet who make the most amazing pet homes. Seriously if you don’t want your gerbil cage cramping your contemporary style these are the cages to go for! After babysitting some very sweet gerbils over the summer break my girls are nagging me for a pet. I’m quite in love with these cages, so much so that I’m quite tempted to let the girls get their way.
Do let me know what you think of these – would you have one if you could?
Pets in all shapes and sizes make loyal, lovable friends and the whole family can enjoy the benefits. They are also a brilliant way of teaching kids about responsibility and how to take care for others whilst providing the opportunity to learn about animal behavior.
Small furries such as hamsters and gerbils are really popular and it’s perfectly possible for even quite young children to look after the animals needs. The one really frustrating part is the eyesore of the cage that’s required to house them. There seems to be one blueprint for a plastic tank with lots of tubes sticking out that everyone uses. It isn’t exactly a great look once you’ve spent so much effort – and usually dosh – on your elegant interiors.
Like a breath of fresh air, enter Qute by omlet.co.uk by far the most sophisticated residence to enter the real estate market for hamsters and gerbils. Akin to a Manhattan loft apartment, this spacious, two-storey abode in a crisp white finish is perfectly suited to any modern interior space. It’s ideal to place in living rooms, bedrooms or kitchens and the top surface can be used for books or to display picture frames.
And Omlet hasn’t solely focused on Qute’s sleek appearance. This small animal house is innovatively designed so that cleaning is really simple and takes less than a minute. With the pets safely stowed in the upper compartment using the Lift ‘n’ Twist tube, the deep bedding tray just slides out for emptying, cleaning and refilling. The bedding tray is clear and flat so it’s easy to view your little furry friends going about their daily lives. You can watch them create tunnels, run up and down the tube, use the exercise wheel and generally being cute and fluffy. The tray also acts as a mobile play station, so you can easily transport the hamsters to whichever room you’d like to play with them in.
As with most well designed products, they are costlier than others but a small price to pay to save ruining your beautiful home with an ugly pet house (also just think of all the time you’ll save cleaning them out, assuming of course the kids don’t do it!). Qute makes a great present for birthdays or Christmas and hopefully provides hours of entertainment to keep them occupied.
While we’re on the subject, it’s also worth checking out Omlet’s Eglu housing for rabbits and guinea pigs. Again at the premium end of pet accommodation, the clever design and features means both you and your pets will love them.
These are primarily for outdoor use, and the brightly coloured housing makes a great feature in the garden. Much like the Qute in functionality, Eglus are modern, easy to clean and safe homes. The twin walled insulation and draft free ventilation ensures a cosy and warm space for pets in the winter months. Eglus are much easier to look after than wooden housing and the run also means your pets can spend as much time as they want outside.
Omlet passionately believe in the joy and benefits of keeping animals. They also work with experts to provide a wealth of advice on pet ownership to ensure ultimate harmony and happiness.
