Grumman TF-9J Cougar

May 2014

This was my second visit to the Evergreen collection, and fortunately there were no major changes resulting from the shutdown of Evergreen International Aviation.  The Cougar first flew in 1951 and remained in service until 1974.  The Navy acquired 377 two-seat trainers and used them  for advanced training, weapons training and carrier training until 1974.  The Blue Angels flew the single-seat Cougar from 1954-56 and the narrator flew the two-seat TF-9J (#7).  Nikon D7000, processing with Photomatix Pro and iPhoto.
