Baby's First YearWhen you first find out that you’re pregnant, you’re excited and nervous and not sure what to do. Well nothing changes from that point on. You have your little bundle of joy and quickly they begin to change. You go from a newborn to a crawler to an eater to a walker in no time. With all of this fast paced growth comes lots of learning and messes for both mom and baby.

I remember bringing home my oldest and how strange it felt. I knew what to do but felt clueless all at the same time. My parenting views were so different then. I used disposables to begin with, we used formula, we received all vaccinations on time, and I didn’t bother with using any natural products. Fast forward to my youngest and I now take the most natural route I can. I breastfeed(yes, still), we use mostly cloth diapers, we do delayed vaccinations and I won’t let anything but WaterWipes touch his bottom.

Baby's First YearYou’ve probably heard me mention WaterWipes a couple of times now but they’re seriously my favorite wipe ever. If this is your first time hearing this then let me fill you in. WaterWipes are chemical free baby wipes that are made with 99.9% Irish water(get it? lol) and 0.1% grapefruit see extract. They are extremely durable so they are an awesome, natural option for your little ones.

Baby's First YearAs much as I love WaterWipes, I’m not sure they could have saved me one time when Evan was teething. Fair warning, this is gross. Evan and I went to breakfast one morning, just the two of us. He had been a little cranky from teething but mostly it was runny diapers that was the problem. I figured I was hungry enough to take the risk and go eat anyways.

While waiting for our server, Evan was sitting in my lap and we were coloring. All of a sudden I felt really wet and looked down to find my entire lap covered in runny diarrhea. There was so much of it that it has moved from my lap into the booth, down the crumb catcher, and was pouring on the carpet. I had never been so mortified in my entire life.

Baby's First YearThe point is, that you can feed your babies carrots or you can feed them cheetos from the floor, no matter how you decide to raise your little ones, its all in your hands. All they need is you and its a learning process for the both of you. There’s no wrong or right way to raise YOUR child. You do what works for your family and make all the fun and messy memories along the way. Don’t forget you’re not alone either. The video below is a collection of us moms and are memories of the first year.
