Great Summer Colors from Ellis Faas

Once summer hits,  I am always thinking about ice cream.  I love all kinds of flavors, and sometimes I am in the mood for the old faithful vanilla.  But other times I am in the mood for something different, something more complex with more flavors mixed in.  It’s the same with cosmetics – sometimes I want tried and true, and other times I want something a little more exotic.  Ellis Faas is the mint chocolate chip flavor of the cosmetics world for me.  Take their blush ($32) – I have the applicator pictured above.  It doesn’t look like your typical blush, does it?  Twist the bottom, and product comes out through little holes in the applicator sponge.

This is S303, which is a beautiful bronzey red color. 

Here is a swatch.  I find this blush to be creamy and long-lasting.  It actually acts like a stain on your cheeks, which is fabulous for me since blush usually disappears almost immediately once I apply it.  While it can certainly be applied straight from the sponge dispenser,  I like to put the product on my steel palette first and then sheer it on with a sponge.

Another great summer color from Ellis Faas is the E303 ($42) eyeshadow.  Above is the brush before any product is pushed through.

And here it is after.  Isn’t this just the most gorgeous shimmery golden bronze ever??  I love it.

Here it is swatched.  E303  is part of the Lights collection, cream eyeshadows with a metallic finish.  It looks wet after it’s applied, but it’s actually dry and smooth to the touch.  This is a perfect summer color, and looks great as a liner, a lid color, or in the crease.

I like soft, shiny lips for summer, and L309 ($35) is the Ellis Faas answer for summer lips.  Here is the brush with the lip gloss coming through.  It’s part of the Glazed lip collection, so applied this clear color has a beautifully wet, shiny look that enhances natural lip color.  I love the feel of this lip gloss, it’s very emollient without being the least bit sticky.  It’s extremely hydrating for lips, and it has Vitamins E and C plus Omega 3 and 6 among the ingredients.
