Great Destinations Only for Bachelors

By Dinesh Singh @travellerpath

Traveling is a joy one should experience both before and after getting hitched. While there are some fascinating destinations like Kerala, Singapore, Pattaya and so on that serve as the staple honeymoon locale, there are other equally mesmerizing places which deserve to be checked out during bachelorhood. Yes, some places are best experienced with other bachelor friends or even solo, if you happen to love the idea of lone traveling.

So, here we go on a bumpy and blood-delighting virtual ride of six such fantastic destinations:

Barcelona, Spain: Spain is a country that has always carved headlines in any travel site or magazine. Its surreal beaches, shops and touristy places come with a baggage of solitude and aloneness you seldom find elsewhere. Barcelona, one of its topmost destinations, is the city which should be right there on your must-see list before walking that holy aisle. Apart from its plethora of eateries, clubs, discs and shops, it is the sense of irrepressible utopia that floats in the air which makes it a magical place.

Why bachelors must go: Sun-kissed beaches, clubs, ambiance and weather

Goa, India: Goa is the kind of place which is also considered as a really smart choice for planning a honeymoon. However, one must admit that this multi-faceted state should also be checked out as a bachelor. Viewing this place through the eyes of a bachelor certainly gives you a perspective different from what you get as a married honeymooner. Several films have done justice to its beauty. Some, of course, have failed to do enough justice. But in a nutshell, Goa with its heady beaches, eyeball-grabbing bikini-draped women and copious numbers of beer bars is the ideal place to go with friends.

Why bachelors must go: Water sports, bikini babes, casinos and beer parties

Leh, Ladakh, India: Those biking enthusiasts who wish to put their adrenalines to test should speed away to Ladakh’s chilly town of Leh. Made famous in a spate of recent Bollywood movies, the snowy mountains and breathtakingly fresh milieu offer breezy yawning roads to turn your bike into a flash of lightning. It goes without saying that Ladakh is also a prominent destination for mountaineering, rock climbing and trekking. So, if you are looking for a ‘buddy destination’, do not forget to insert this place in your chart.

Why bachelors must go: Mountain sports and challenging weather

New York City, New York: Seriously, going all out into this chaotic destination does require plenty of audacity since this is no hilly soulful respite-offering peaceful sleeping town. Here, the decibel level is ear-shattering, the streets are always full of people and there are just too many activities going on to pay detailed leisurely attention to everything. Yet, it is this clutter and bustle that lend it an exclusivity which must be experienced with your gang of mischief-makers, rather than with your pretty wife.

Why bachelors must go: Commotion, nightlife, atmosphere

Las Vegas: Las Vegas hardly needs justification and anybody who likes his game of beer and card will know why it is called the paradise of an unmarried guy. Full of casinos, strip clubs, discos and bars, Vegas is the ultimate destination of exotica and erotica. No, there is nothing lewd about it. It is just the inhibition-free persona it wears that catches a fun-lover off guard, throws him into a pool of hysteria and thrill and leaves him begging for more.

Why bachelors must go: Casinos, bars, strip clubs, nightlife and everything else

Roopkund Lake, India: Roopkund Lake has been garnering some serious amount of fame since the past five-six years. It is notoriously famous for its skeleton-laden lake and this eeriness itself makes it a no-no place for a honeymooning couple. So, the best people to tag along are adventure-loving friends. And did we say that this scenic place is also spectacular for trekking, camping and hiking?

Why bachelors must go: Adventure sports, mystery spots, harsh weather
