Australian Grahak Cunningham wins the 3100 mile race

Grahak Cunningham wins the worlds longest annual footrace, the Self-Transcendence 3100 mile race in Queens New York. Grahak finished last night in a time of 43 days,10 hours,36 minutes and 39 seconds. (Photos and chat with Grahak on his final day at Perfection-journey.org)
This is the fourth time Australian Grahak Cunningham has run the race and as well as setting a new record at 1000 miles he becomes only the third person to have averaged over 70 miles a day for the duration of his event – 71.363 miles /114.848 kilometers per day.

The next five runners are all on schedule to finish within the 52 days with second placed Sarvagata Ukrainsky only having 140 miles to go before he reaches the finish line possibly finishing just before midnight tomorrow night.

Conditions have been hot and humid recently with four heatwaves and numerous thunderstorms making conditions more challenging.

The race finishes August 7th.
