Graffiti & Cobalt

Over the past few months I got to be part of a human rights group called Freedom and Fashion, which harnesses the power of the arts and fashion to fight human exploitation and sex trafficking. It’s a unique nonprofit if I’ve ever seen one, and I’ve enjoyed being a part of such a passionate and driven staff. One bonus of working for them is the cool office location in Downtown L.A.’s warehouse district – an artsy of a place if there were any. For example, you don’t have to walk far to come across vibrant and captivating graffiti walls like this one in an alley behind our building. I was hanging out with fellow staff member Giovanny from Convivial Gentleman when we decided to embark on a photo exploration of the area. I love love love how my cobalt blazer looks against the graffitied background. Mod31-4

And finally I get to feature my American Eagle damask jeans that I had mentioned before! This outfit is just a twist on a very simple, office-appropriate ensemble – black jeans, white button up, and blazer. Just by adding some details (damask) and a splash of color, it becomes unique and eye-catching.

Some parts of L.A. might be broken down, but you can find beauty and art everywhere. The human heart yearns to express itself and will find whatever way possible to do so. Even when the only option is behind an almost empty warehouse.
