Microsoft decided to retire its’ old operating system, Windows XP for good by ending its’ support on April 8, 2014. Followed by this announcement, a lot of major software developers also announced to end their software support for the OS. Although, Google is not among them. The company has decided to support XP users during this harsh time by extending Google Chrome support for XP until April 2015.

“We recognize that hundreds of millions of users, including a good chunk of current Chrome users, still rely on XP. Moreover, many organizations still run dozens or even hundreds of applications on XP and may have trouble migrating. Our goal is to support Chrome for XP users during this transition process. Most importantly, Chrome on XP will still be automatically updated with the latest security fixes to protect against malware and phishing attacks.” Google stated on a blog post.

Even though this is good news, you should definitely consider moving to Windows 7 or Windows 8 as soon as possible, if you’re still on Windows XP. The old OS was one of the best operating systems ever made, but currently it’s infested with tons of malware and viruses. So, it’s best to get updated to current system and softwares. Even Google can’t keep supporting you guys forever.
