Google has decided to bring its Gmail, Drive, and Google+ family together by offering a 15 GB of unified free space across all those mentioned services.

“Life gets a bit easier when your Google products work well together—whether that’s inserting a Drive file into an email or sharing a photo from Drive on Google+. As this experience becomes more seamless, separate storage doesn’t make as much sense anymore.” Google’s Clay Bavor explained their new move in the blog.

Previously Google gave us 10GB of space for Gmail, and 5GB of free storage for Drive and Google+. Now, they have just combined the amount to make things way better. Yes, it’s no big deal. But think about this, lets say I barely use Gmail and have stored up like 500mb of Emails. I’m wasting over 9GB of free space. However, I have a ton of files that I’d like to store in Drive but I can’t because I’m limited to just 5GB. That awkwardness is no longer there. Now you’ve got 15GB of space, no matter what service you use. How cool is that?

Well played, Google. Well played.
