Google Self-Driving Car Pulled Over By Cop

By Nottheworstnews @NotTheWorstNews

CNN reports that a Mountain View, California police-officer pulled over a self-driving car, with no driver for driving too slowly.  Specifically the car was driving 24 mph in a 35 mph zone, with a passenger, who apparently got a lecture, but no ticket.  Because no laws were broken.

3 Questions That Arise From This Story

  1. Why didn’t the officer ask to search the vehicle? We would have liked to see the cop foiled again by Google searching for whatever he wanted.
  2. Why is a tech company building a car that drives like your grandfather? Don’t they know that consumers demand “Fast” and “Furious” not “Slow” and “Serious?”
  3. How many ads did the car make the officer watch before he let it go? Hopefully one of the ads was for the latest Fast and Furious movies to remind the officer what real driving infractions look like.
