Time to take a little peek into the future to check out what might lie ahead for us in the area of smartphone technology.

Of course, we all know that smartphones are getting smarter and smarter at a blazing pace. ‘And making kids stupider and stupider,’ so my father says. But that’s a point of opinion I prefer not to look into at all!

But I digress.

So, getting back to the topic, here is a brand new ‘concept device’ designed by the researchers of 91mobiles.com. 91mobiles.com is India’s largest ‘gadget research website’ engaged in bringing out fresh new and innovative ideas in the areas of mobile phones and personal technology. And it’s one of India’s leading website hosting information, images and videos about features and specifications of various mobile phones.

This brand new concept device by 91mobiles has been named Google Nexus 360. Why 360? Read on, and you’ll see.

Google Nexus 360, as envisioned by 91mobiles, might seem too futuristic. But actually, the technologies used in it are rooted in actual possibilities and realities.

So let’s take a look at it and dream of the time when we can enjoy such a device in our own hands, and wrists!. And it is not going to be too far away in future either. Just three or four years might bring to us devices similar to this concept smartphone.

This concept device has been designed on the basis of combination of research by 91mobiles, user suggestions and innovations and technologies available in other devices. And so, some of its features are already present on existing devices. Some features, though, are brand new and unique.

The highlights of this Google Nexus 360 are:

  • It’s a smartphone that is flexible enough to circle around the wrist and convert into a smartwatch.
  • It is capable of offering full range of functions whether in a smartphone mode or smartwatch mode.
  • It is equipped with vibrant polymer OLED display
  • It is equipped with embedded Bluetooth headset which can easily dock at the side of Google Nexus 360 and charges itself using the smartphone’s power
  • Integrated fingerprint scanner and heart rate monitor. Of course, this is nothing new. We already have devices equipped with these. But these are nice to have features, nevertheless.
  • It is equipped with a tube camera. I really liked the idea of such a camera. One single camera that can be rotated front to back.
  • Google Nexus 360 is equipped with an innovative always on e-link to display notifications
  • Of course, such an innovative device can’t be less then IP67 certified, can it?
