Google Nexus 10 Vs Apple iPad 4: Comparison

The war of touchpads intensifies! Apple versus Samsung products are the leaders of the “battle” for the supremacy among tablets. Today we give you a little comparison of the two tablets – Apple iPad 4 (with Retina Display) and Google Nexus 10.

Dimensions

Differences in dimensions between the two rivals may seem subtle on paper, but are in fact quite large. The Google Nexus 10 measures 263.9 x 177.6 x 8.9 mm. This is a more elongated device which could promote horizontal use, while the iPad 4 measures the same as its predecessor third generation – 241.2 x 185.7 x 9.4 mm and it is square and evenly proportioned.

Both the iPad and Nexus 10 row 4 are in the category of 10” tablets, the fourth generation of Apple’s tablet has a slightly smaller screen of 9.7”. The Google device has an advantage in terms of pixel density: it has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 to 299 PPI, while the iPad has four 2048 x 1536 to 264 PPI.

Storage and memory

Neither of these devices offers anything remarkable regarding storage. Both lack a memory card slot, and the Apple tablet offers the greatest choice for multimedia enthusiasts, with memory of 64GB plus 16GB and 32GB. Nexus 10 is available in two versions, 16GB and 32GB, but offers an impressive 2GB of RAM while the new iPad with Retina display offers 1GB.

Processor and battery

Based on ARM architecture, the Apple has a CPU processor Swift chip A6X; clocked at 1.4 GHz and complemented by a PowerVR quad SGX543 graphics core-set-up. The Nexus 10 SoC Exynos 5 is formed of a Cortex A-15 processor running at 1.7 GHz and supported by Mali-T604 graphics. The best results from rival Google, has the iPad in terms of battery performance, with 11,560 mAh battery and a claimed battery life of 10 hours.

There is not much difference between the two tablets in the camera quality. Both offer a 5-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video primary at 30fps. Nexus 10 provides a secondary camera slightly higher, boasting a 1.9 megapixel camera for video calls and other while the iPad 4 has 1.2 megapixel front camera.
