Good News!

By Rubytuesday
Just a quick post this morningMonday is doctor day as you knowMy doctor wasn't very chatty this morningHe asked me how my week wentAnd how I got on on my new doseI told him this week went betterBut could he please not reduce my methadone this weekHe agreedLast week he said he was going to reduce it by 2mls a weekWhich is quite a lot He made the point that we were hoping to be completely off it by next ChristmasAnd now they won't happenI don't mind thoughI would rather be on more methadone and be stableThan be on less and messing aroundSo I am still on 36 mlsAnd that is just fine with me
I came home And wrote out some points for my interview this afternoonThey are going to ring me at 3 30pmAnd my slot will last around fifteen minutesI am super nervous I just hope I can do you all proud And speak honestly and openlyI will do my very bestThat's all I can do
In other newsThe postman came at about 11amOne letter from meMy Mum left it on the coffee table for meI immediately knew what it wasIt was from my courseI slowly opened itAnd scanned down through the writingYou know what?I got in!!I have my place on the course!Exciting!I am delighted to have made it onNow I have some decisions to makeIf I accept this placeMy disability benefit will be stopped after one yearAnd I will have to go on JobseekersWho very much stay on your back about getting work When my payment is stoppedI can appeal itBut that is a nightmare of red tape that I don't want to go through The thing isIf my disability is stoppedIt will be nigh impossible to get back on itI was first put on this payment when I went in to hospital for the first timeMy psychiatrist wrote to social welfareAnd I was immediately put on disabilityAnd it's great to be on itAs they really do leave you aloneNo signing onThe money goes straight in to my bank accountNo pressure from social welfareAnd I also get a travel passWhich saves me so much moneyMy case is reviewed every few yearsAnd that is usually just routine questions So if I do this courseI will lose that paymentThat securityAnd all the perks that go with itIt really makes no sense to meBut then that's this country for you
I do have other optionsI could try and find another courseIt's just that I had my heart set on this oneAs its specifically for adults returning to educationIt's part timeThere's a lot of supportAnd it's near my homeI guess all I can do is find out all my optionsThen make an informed decisionI have two months until the course startsSo I will try to make it work
I am trying to kill time before my interviewIt never ceases to amaze meThe things that have happened through my blogIt just goes to showThat if you are willing to put yourself out thereWonderful things can happen....
