THE SHOWS  Shades of Blue JLo's one of those women that everyone loves. She can pretty much do no wrong except date Ben Affleck, we didn't love when she did that, did we? Anyway, I broke my no cop shows rule and checked out Shades of Blue over the weekend. If you're a cop show person, I'm sure you'll like this one and of course if your a JLo person you'll definitely like this one. It's hard to believe JLo as a cop, but she's not bad in it with the exception of her running. She just doesn't look right when she runs. Maybe it's because I assume she's wearing Manolo's or Louboutin's and not a sensible pair of Skechers while she's doing it. Ray Liotta's a bit disturbing to look at these days. He's not exactly aging gracefully, like George Clooney, but he 's good in this show. The premise is that JLo and Ray and their little group of "good" cops aren't ALL good. JLo gets caught taking a bribe and the Feds turn her into their informant to get Ray. JLo has a 16 year old daughter who plays the cello and I THINK, but I'm not positive that Ray is the kid's father. No confirmation on that, just a hunch. If Ray's not the kid's daddy, then I have no idea why he'd pay her $10,000 private school bill. I'm not giving this one a season pass. Not because it's not good, but because it's not great or unique and because I just need to stick to my own rules. No cop shows.
Golden Globe Awards
Red Carpet
  • Jamie Alexander from Blindspot is SO beautiful. Her stylist should be shot for making her look so horrible.
  • Eva Longoria's dress looked like a little kid with hands filled with food smeared it all over her.
  • America Ferrara's yellow-like-the-sun dress was terrible. How in the world do you put that on and say "YES THIS IS THE ONE!"
  • Oyyyy Ross Matthews. I always forget that I have to deal with him for 2 hours.
  • Sofia Bush is gorgeous but the ponytail was ridiculous. Looked like dry damaged horse hair. I guess it was a real PONY TAIL!
  • Giuliana Rancic's red cape cutout dress was hideous. EAT!!!
  • Let's just go with this for 99% of the men…you all look good in a tux as long as it's tailored perfectly.
  • Uzo Aduba's hair was a wreck. Pretty sure she paid for that wig. Waste of money. I don't think you can return hair, even if you have a receipt.
  • Malin Akerman's gray peblum thing…GROSS
  • Bryce Dallas Howard's red and orange earrings didn't match her Stevie Nicks hand-me-down. She apparently picked it up at Neiman's and never got it tailored. You could tell Bryce…you could TELL
  • Whoaaaaa Kirsten Dunst's boobs were rockin in that wild black dress. Tape working hard on that one.
  • Alicia, the new "it" girl from The Danish Girl looked amazing in that Louis Vuitton white gown.
  • Emmy Rossum's red Armani with that awesome diamond necklace---fave so far. PERFECT FIT!
  • Natalie Dormer from Game of Thrones red dress and hair was a scary mess
  • The #1 guy of the night…Rob Lowe
  • Laverne Cox gorgeous in white
  • WAY too much dress for Zendaya. WAY TOO MUCH FABRIC. Looked like her head was stuck on a red wedding cake
  • Brie Larson looked very nice in gold. Hair and earrings totally on point
  • Jason Sedakis and Olivia Wilde were good except for the Jordan's. Funny yes, but also sort of stupid.
  • JLo's the only woman who can pull off a mustard yellow dress…Absolutely stunning.
  • Pretty sure Jamie Lee Curtis wears the same dress to every event and it takes her 60 seconds to get ready.
  • Giuliana totally pissed Jamie Lee off with that comment about her mother.
  • Joanne Froggat from Downton Abbey, aka Mrs. Debbie Downer Bates, looked so good in the gray dress. Not sure how I felt about that giant piece of sheer fabric though.
  • Amy Schumer looked good. Sister, Kim Schumer…not so much.
  • Melissa McCarthy's lost a lot of weight which is sort of weird because she now has a clothing line for heavyset women. She looked really good, but again, wondering if she loses the funny along with the weight. Hated, the Glad bag she was wearing. HATED it!
  • I know this is going to be controversial, but Channing Tatum's just NOT that good looking. Sick body, yes, enjoyable, YES, but he's just not that hot. Jenna's dress showcased her lack of a rack, but she's sooooo adorable and she killed on Lip Sync Battle, so I love her BUT, Jenna, how do you let Channing out of the house with that hair? HORRIBLE!
  • Sly Stallone rules. His wife and daughters were all beautiful.
  • Taraji P. Henson looked awesome in white BUT she needed some Spanxx or something. There was something weird under that dress and you could see her bellybutton
  • SUPER Lame to give that kid from Room light saber's on the red carpet. What's he going to do with them for the rest of the night. Make his Mom hold them? I'm sure she was loving you last night Giuliana. THANKS FOR THE GIFT!
  • The Rock's lapel's were way TOO BIG, they looked like wings
  • Kate Hudson looks SO much like her Mom in every way. Her body, her hair etc.
  • Rooney Mara's such an interesting looking girl. She looks so different every time I see her that I don't even know what she really looks like.
  • Amy Adams looked great. I loved the red, loved the hair. She looked elegant and comfortable all at the same time.
  • What is Eddie Redmayne's wife going to do with those onesies? Hopefully Eddie's "people" won't mind carrying onesies around all night. The gifts on the red carpet are So stupid.
  • Katy Perry's boobs were saggy and the hair was horrible. I feel bad for whoever was sitting behind her. Plus that bow in the back of the dress probably bugged the crap out of her in her seat.
  • J Law…awesome! She can do NO wrong. That diamond necklace was sick! Ryan should have asked about that necklace. HUGE miss Ryan Seacrest.
  • Saoirse Ronan. No idea who she is, haven't seen Brooklyn yet, but she likes Bieber, so I like her.
  • Leo's very enjoyable. Old Hollywood like Clooney.
  • Will and Jada always look good. 7 "you knows" in under 2 minutes. Not sure if that was a record but annoying nonetheless. Don't they ever watch themselves and notice that they both start every sentence with "you know?"
  • Kate Winslett's blue dress was nice. I wonder if she was excited to see Leo. Titanic Reunion!
The Show
  • Ricky Gervais…started out with a beer and a Sean Penn joke. He looked nervous to me but he rocked the entire night. Edgy is good, edgy isn't boring and I personally give him a thumbs up!
  • NBC's hosting/broadcasting the show and they had zero nominations…didn't realize that!
  • BRAD PITT ALERT, BRAT PITT ALERT!!!
  • Channing Tatum's hair was soooo annoying.  Jonah Hill as the bear from The Revenant with the honey awareness ribbon was pretty funny. Jane Fonda's date looked like he was sleeping awake during that bit.
  • Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture-Kate Winslett for Steve Jobs. She really was shocked. Where was Leo? I would have liked a camera shot of him during her speech.
  • JLo and The Rock way too much bronzer on both of them.
  • Best Actress in a TV Drama-Maura Tierney for The Affair. She looked like Lois Lane. Why no contacts?
  • Andy Samberg was pretty funny with his wrap up bit.
  • Best Actress in a TV Series/Musical-Rachel Bloom for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Now maybe people will watch it!  Rachel was a bit much, glad they played her off.
  • Cookie and Lucious presented Best TV Series Comedy to Mozart in the Jungle on Amazon Prime. Guess I better watch that one.
  • Viola Davis looked the best I've ever seen her look but I still see a man when I look at her.
  • Prez of the Hollywood Foreign Press's neck was missing but who cared….BRAD PITT ALERT!!! BRAD PITT ALERT!!!
  • Ricky's funny Matt Damon intro had him a bit tongue tied. Guessing The Martian isn't a comedy by Ricky's comments. Maybe funny doesn't translate well? The Hollywood Foreign Press seems to really not get the difference between comedies and dramas.
  • Best Limited Series-Wolf Hall
  • Best Actor in a Limited Series-Oscari Isaac for Show Me a Hero. WHAT IS THAT? Never heard of it. I wonder how many people in the room knew who that dude was and what that series was.
  • BRAD PITT ALERT!!!
  • Jason Statham scares me.
  • Lady Gaga and Tom Ford. Tom needed some serious blotting. SUPERRRR SHINY FOREHEAD, but maybe he wanted to showcase the new round of Botox?
  • Best Supporting Actor in a TV Drama-HARD CATEGORY BS!!! Christian Slater beat out the Outlander dude and Ben Mendelsohn from Bloodline? THAT IS F'ed up
  • I'm in a bad mood now. That category PISSED ME OFF
  • Jamie Foxx did a Steve Harvey and presented Best Score to Straight Out of Compton as a joke, it really went to The Hateful Eight. Quentin Tarantino came up and he bugged me so much I fast forwarded through him. Love his movies, can't stand him.
  • Jamie Foxx presented his daughter, Miss Golden Globe, Corinne Foxx. She looked very pretty. Jamie was very proud but I didn't believe for a second that she doesn't ask him for money.
  • Eva Longoria and America Ferrara were funny but their dresses, together, were too much for the eyes to bare.
  • Best Actor in a TV Drama went to Jon Hamm for Mad Men. BOGUS!  He's a tool. Hated Mad Men.
  • Jennifer Lawrence & Amy Schumer got bleeped. They were good together, they should host next year.
  • Best Motion Picture-Comedy went to Matt Damon for The Martian. Good Will Hunting was 18 year ago!
  • I'd love for someone to come up and say "our crew sucked, the director was a d*ck, but whatever, I'm glad you liked the movie." That would be so refreshing and different, now wouldn't it.
  • Kate and Kurt…awwww so cute. They presented Best Animated Motion Picture to Inside Out.
  • Ryan Gossling and Brad Pitt together? Damn. THEY LOOK GOOD. Now that would be a fun Kristy sandwich. Better yet, Brad/Kristy/Rob. Perfection.
  • Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture-I've heard of only 1 of these guys and only one of the movies. Thankfully, the one guy I knew, Sylvester Stallone won for Creed.
  • Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell with 2016 glasses were really pretty funny.
  • Best Screenplay-Aaron Sorkin of course. Rob Lowe posted a selfie with Aaron. West Wing reunion.
  • Supergirl and The Flash presented Best Actor in a TV Comedy. Yeah Aziz for the funniest camera shot of the night. He held a book titled "Losing to Jeffrey Tambor with Dignity. Unfortunately the joke didn't pay out when shocker of all shockers…Gael Garcia Bernal won for Mozart in the Jungle. He's pretty tiny. Guess we'll all be bingeing this one soon.
  • Helen Mirren and Gerard Butler looked good together. I'd like them to start dating. Helen Mirren looked great.
  • Best Foreign Film - Son of Saul (Hungary)
  • Ricky had another winner with a great joke for Ken Jeong and Kevin Hart. HILARIOUS RICKY!!!
  • Julie and Les…I love seeing them together. They do look happy.
  • Best Actress in a Limited Series- Lady Gaga for American Horror Story: Hotel. She was way more into hugging the super freaky Ryan Murphy than she was her super hot fiancé Taylor Kinney. She TOWERED over Ken and Kevin and didn't thank Taylor Kinney. Love on the rocks?
  • Katy Perry looking worse an hour into the show presented Best Song to Sam Smith for "Writings on the Wall" from Spectre the James Bond movie.
  • Ricky Gervais introduced Mel Gibson. Whoa. SUPER weird and SUPER awkward.  I heard this morning that he got bleeped for saying" What the hell are sugar t*ts?" The audience was shocked. Did you see Alan Cummings with his "Holy Sh*t" face? Come on Internet…we need an uncensored live feed for this sucker next year.
  • I love John Krasinski
  • Best TV Series Drama went to: Mr. Robot DAMN IT NO OUTLANDER? WTF!!!!! THEY WERE ROBBED! (But I think Mr. Robot is really good even though I only saw the pilot-another one to binge)
  • Tom Hanks had a really bad cold but still did a pretty good impression of Denzel Washington. Personally, I'd stay home if I were Tom Hanks and I had a cold. He's gonna pass all those germs onto all of Hollywood now.  I'm sorry Mr. Hanks but I disagree with you, the list of legendary actors is infinite, there will always be great actors to add to the list. That was a stupid comment. Wow, Denzel's been a ton of movies. His wife totally wears the pants in his family, huh?
  • Chris Evans, Chris Pine and One of the Hemsworths (Liam I think) all look alike to me.
  • Best Director of a Motion Picture-Alejandro Inarritu for The Revenant
  • Kate Bosworth was crazy shiny
  • Best Actress in a TV Series Drama-Taraji P. Henson. I love her, but the Outlander chick is WAY BETTER!!!!. You could see Taraji's belly button in her dress. As mentioned above, a Spanxx was needed. My Outlander chick didn't look to happy.
  • Love the Ernst & Young team photo holding their suitcases.
  • Michael Keaton reminded me of how much I HATED Birdman
  • Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy-Jennifer Lawrence for Joy. David O. Russell had lipstick on him on national TV. Where was the wife or girlfriend or agent or someone to wipe that off immediately?
  • Maggie Gyllenhaal's dress reminded me of the inside of Donald Trumps Mar-a-Lago place.
  • Tobey McGuire always looks like he just walked in on his own surprise party
  • Jim Carrey's beard was quite the beard. He killed and then…he presented Best Motion Picture Comedy to: The Martian. Ridley Scott, the director also had issues with his film being classified as a comedy but he blew off the music and the music got louder and he just kept going.
  • Eddie Redmayne presented Best Actress in a Motion Picture to: Brie Larson for Room
  • Julianne Moore presented Best Actor in a Motion Picture to: Leonardo DiCaprio for The Revenant. How do you play that guy off guys?
  • Best Movie of the Year: The Revenant. No time for speeches or jokes to end the evening.
  • Note to NBC for next year. Live uncensored feed, more spy cams in the audience during break and even during the show, start earlier to give more time to winners.
THE OTHER STUFF
-I finished Making a Murderer on Friday night and then spent most of Saturday reading everything about the case I shielded myself from all week. I'm OBSESSED. Gotta admit I was absolutely 100% on the Steven-Avery-was-framed side of things and then…I read Donnie Wahlberg's post where he compared the OJ case to the Steven Avery case and while I'm still on Avery's side, Donnie really does have me thinking about everything a bit differently. Even if Steven Avery did commit the crime, which I still don't think he did, the justice system failed him time and time again. The craziest thing of all is that it was DNA technology that cleared Avery of his first crime and set him free after 18 years in prison and now it's DNA technology again that could set him free a second time. I'm SO not into murder mysteries, or killers or any of this stuff. I don't watch the news, I am just not into this genre at all, but I gotta say, this was a riveting dock-series that sucks you in right away. Next chance you get to give up 10 hours of your life…I'd say take it.
-After finishing up Making a Murder, I was jonesin for something to watch. The weather wasn't great, I still have vertigo, and I'm on a spending freeze, so I took the advice of one of my favorite WWTM readers and watched another documentary called, Crazy Love.  You know how they say "the truth is stranger than fiction?" well Crazy Love is the perfect example. I don't want to give anything away on this one because I really want you guys to watch it AND there's an amazing twist to the story. All I can say is. This one's only 90 minutes and you won't be disappointed.
- I can't believe Rectify went 4 seasons. I watched the first season and while I did sort of get into it, it was the slowwwwwwest show ever. Even the way everyone spoke and paused all the time was soooo slowwww. The fourth and final season will air in the Fall and then it will be ovvvveeeerrr.
-First there was Ryan Seacrest, then there was Andy Cohen and new the newest entry to the "hardest working man in show biz" club…Michael Strahan. Yep. He's got NFL, he's got Kelly, he's got the Kids Choice Awards and now he'll be hosting a 10 episode run of the $100,000 Pyramid this Summer. I was a HUGE Pyramid fan back in the day. I'm a huge Strahan fan too, so I'll prob tune into this one as long as it's not on against Big Bro over the Summer.

-Finally my niece Bailey can watch the show that her name came from. Hulu just made a deal for all Party of Five, Dawson's Creek, and The Shield episodes. Love me some Party of Five, Loved Dawson, Pacey, Joey and Jen and now maybe I'll binge The Shield. MAYBE!
Monday's Trivia Question: What does the DJ in DJ Tanner's name stand for on Full House?
RIP Trivia: David Bowie passed away last night. RIP David Bowie. What was David Bowie's real name?
