Golden Globes 2012: Winners

The Golden Globe winners have been selected last night, in a ceremony held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The 69th annual Golden Globe Awards were presented by Ricky Gervais. Here is the complete rundown of the 69th annual winners and nominees in all TV categories, as well as my own choices for the winners, since, as always, the awards disappointed me.

Best Television Series, Drama
  • American Horror Story
  • Boardwalk Empire
  • Boss
  • Game of Thrones
  • Homeland

How come Game of Thrones didn't win this? Just because it's a new show? That doesn't seem fair. Also, how come no network TV shows were nominated? There are plenty that would have deserved to be among the five nominees.
Best Actor in a Television Series, Drama
  • Steve Buscemi - Boardwalk Empire
  • Bryan Cranston - Breaking Bad
  • Kelsey Grammer - Boss
  • Jeremy Irons - The Borgias
  • Damian Lewis - Homeland

I have the same problem here: network TV shows were completely forgotten and it sucks.
Best Actress in a Television Series, Drama
  • Claire Danes - Homeland
  • Mireille Enos - The Killing
  • Julianna Margulies - The Good Wife
  • Madeleine Stowe - Revenge
  • Callie Thorne - Necessary Roughness

Julianna Marguiles was my choice here.
Best Televison Series, Comedy or Musical
  • Enlightened
  • Episodes
  • Glee
  • Modern Family
  • New Girl

Forgetting about Nurse Jackie and The Big Bang Theory and nominating Glee pisses me off. I was glad that New Girl made the cut, but that will not make me forgive these guys for their bad taste in comedy.
Best Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical
  • Alec Baldwin - 30 Rock
  • David Duchovny - Californication
  • Johnny Galecki - The Big Bang Theory
  • Thomas Jane - Hung
  • Matt Leblanc - Episodes

I have nothing against Matt Leblanc, but nothing can beat BBT's actors. And, while I had hoped Johnny Galecki would win, forgetting about Jim Parsons is an unforgivable mistake.
Best Actress in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical
  • Laura Dern - Enlightened
  • Zooey Deschanel - New Girl
  • Tina Fey - 30 Rock
  • Laura Linney - The Big C
  • Amy Poehler - Parks and Recreation

If I had to chose, I would have said Zooey Deschanel, whose new sitcom is hilarious. But how come Edie Falco wasn't even nominated?
Best Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television
  • Cinema Verite
  • Downton Abbey (Masterpiece)
  • The Hour
  • Mildred Pierce
  • Too Big to Fail

Best Actor in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television
  • Hugh Bonneville - Downton Abbey (Masterpiece)
  • Idris Elba - Luther
  • William Hurt - Too Big to Fail
  • Bill Nighy - Page Eight (Masterpiece)
  • Dominic West - The Hour

Best Actress in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television
  • Romola Garai - The Hour
  • Diane Lane - Cinema Verite
  • Elizabeth McGovern - Downton Abbey (Masterpiece)
  • Emily Watson - Appropriate Adult
  • Kate Winslet - Mildred Pierce

Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television
  • Peter Dinklage - Game of Thrones
  • Paul Giamatti - Too Big to Fail
  • Guy Pearce - Mildred Pierce
  • Tim Robbins - Cinema Verite
  • Eric Stonestreet - Modern Family

At least in this category there was a winner I rooted for. Well done, Peter Dinklage!
Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television
  • Jessica Lange - American Horror Story
  • Kelly MacDonald - Game of Thrones
  • Maggie Smith - Downton Abbey (Masterpiece)
  • Sofia Vergara - Modern Family
  • Evan Rachel Wood - Mildred Pierce
