Let’s face it. Buying gifts for the men in your life isn’t all rainbows and roses. Last year, I spent hours picking out the perfect holdall for my boyfriend only for him to frown at it on Christmas morning. We took it back to Selfridges, only for him to walk past the very same bag (packed with stuffing) on the way out and decide he actually really liked it. The perfect gift also depends on how long you’ve been with your other half. Luckily, my gift guide for men features the ideal gift whether you’ve been together 2 months or two years.

c600x300 If this is your first Christmas with your man, I’d suggest a gift that is flirty and fun. Edible gifts will always go down well and these Prince Charming chocolate walnuts are ideal at £7.99. Not a chocolate fan? Whoop Ass Hot Sauce is an awesome choice for meat lovers.

If you want to spend a bit more but don’t want a present that screams I love you, surprise him by signing him up to the Coffee Club. A three month membership is only £24 and he gets two varieties of coffee through his letterbox each month.

If you’ve moved in and taken over his space with your perspex makeup storage give something back this Christmas with a shiny new addition to his man cave. This stag clock by Studio Thirty-Two will go down a treat.

Looking for a gift for the guy who has everything, this stylish little shoe shine kit is perfect.

I couldn’t do a men’s gift guide without including a grooming kit. Bluebeard’s Revenge  won the FHM Brand of the Year award this year and it is the latest go-to brand for grooming gift sets. There’s something for every budget with sets starting from £24.

Slippers are a great gift if you want to present him with a personal gift without the risk of getting it wrong. I bought my other half these Just Sheepskin slippers a couple of Christmases ago and in his words they are ‘the best thing you ever bought me’ which is interesting as I surprised him with tickets to New York once. So my advice to all women would be save your pennies and stick with a pair of slippers for £45. They come in three different colours and they are half the price of the UGG ones and just as cosy.

Been together three years or more? Head to Daniel Wellington and pick up a fail safe gift. With watches of all kinds from luxurious leather ones to preppy canvas styles, there’s something for everyone.
