Getting your Little One Ready for Preschool?Your child is growing, and so are your responsibilities. At home, you can tolerate anything and everything your little one does. However, it is important to get them ready for Preschool before they actually start going to one. Here are some tips to help you prepare them for Preschool.

Make them Less Dependent

Three and four-year-olds depend on their parents for almost everything. This is because, as parents, we do not encourage the habit of being independent. Studies say that children in this age group are capable of doing much more than what we think they can. At school, teachers except little ones to do a number of tasks on their own like; hang up their jackets, throw away paper plates (if any) and much more. If they are not independent, they will wait for teachers to do it for them. That will add to the burden of teachers, and not every teacher is good with their task. So, teach your children to be independent, to some extent.

Compliment Them on Tasks They Do. Don’t Redo It

If they have dressed in a way, on their own, compliment them. Don’t be mad at them for not dressing properly. If they make their bed, compliment them. Let them know they are doing some of the important tasks. Bottom line: Compliment them.

Let Them Clear Simple Challenges on their Own

If they are assembling their toy, don’t interfere and make the task easy for them. Even if they come to you with it, make an effort to do it, but don’t do it at once. Let them see and understand it properly.

Assign Them Tasks They Can Do

May it be throwing something in the dustbin, pouring their own cereal, or helping with age appropriate chores. If they are assigned a task, they will understand things better and will not be messy in school or in public.

Develop Routine Task that are Predictable

If they can predict a thing, they will have the urge to do it again and again. This will improve their self-confidence. There are books written to boost their self-confidence. If you are planning to buy one from an online store, check out chameleonjohn for coupons so that you get the books or other products at a discounted price.

Game Play

Children do not like doing things when they are not in the mood to do it. Don’t force them. Instead, turn it into a game and let them enjoy the tasks they rejected at first.

Warn Them

If they are not listening to you, warn them of transitions. This can be leaving their friend’s house, stopping play or switching off the TV set.

Cancel the ‘IF’

Often, parents tell their kids, ‘if you do this, you will get that. ’It rarely works. Frankly, in most of the cases, it doesn’t work. Instead, try saying,’Do this, and you will get that.’ The chances of your child doing the noted task are comparatively higher.

Teamwork

Teach them that taking part of events in a team is important. This is because, at school they will have to get together with other kids and be a part of a team. So, letting them know about it at an early stage should help.<
