Getting Punked: Met Gala 2013

By Alexa Alfonso @lexlovescouture

I am sure if you follow my blog even just a little bit you have gathered that I am quite the girly girl. So, the thought of the Met Gala being punk themed this year was somewhat disappointing. It is not the type of fashion I was not necessarily looking forward to. I live for the chic effortless glamour.

I have respect for all the fashion trends and styles, but I have always found punk to be a bit too much for me. That being said, as I looked through how fashionistas took these theme and ran with it I was very impressed. Whether it was a dark lip or full blown spiky hair many celebrities owned the punk look.

Check out a few of my favorite looks below:

I loved the punk twist that she added with her extreme dark lip.

This spiked leather jacket added such an edge to her look.

Anne Hathaway in Valentino
I adore her dress and surprisingly I am obsessed with the blonde! I typically prefer her as a brunette, but now that she has joined team short hair it is totally working.

Since Miley went platinum blonde and chopped off her hair into a pixie cut, she has been channeling the punk look. I love that she went full blown for the theme. The spiky hair took her look to the next level.

There were so many amazing looks at the Met Gala this year, but these had to be my type four! Who were your favorites this year?
